Phils still Need Pitching!

The Phils are wheelin' and dealin', but they still need pitching.

OK, we got Stanton for relief, but that is not major.

I believe the Phils will Not get it done with Milwood as their #1.

Brett Meyers is Not getting any better either.

The way I see it so far. Padilla, Milton, Lytle are all OK, and
capable of each posting 17-20 wins, if they are on.

The problem - still got 2 holes and they better get fixed soon!

Phils get Lofton & Stanton - whose next Dale Murphy?

I woke Saturday to find the Phils and Yankees did a deal.

I believe the versatility of Kenny Lofton can help this
ballclub a good bit.

It frees up their targets for other better players, now that
they are showing some life with going after winning players.

Lofton has been on a number of teams winning the playoffs
in recent years and maybe he's what the doctor orderd.
Of course he is 37 years old, but, he still has the fire and desire
and Knows how to win.

He will most likely face right handers, with Jason Michaels his
backup, against lefthanders.

Also aquired was Mike Stanton, from the Mets another 37 year
old, who most likely will be the replacement for the traded
Felix Rodriquez.

All in all it was a good trade for both, as the Yankees wound up with
a quality left handed pitcher, one that surely needed, and the Phils
desperately needed a good centerfielder, and they now have one.

The missing piece for the Phils would be another top line starter.
If they get a quality starting pitcher, they would have a very
good shot at making the playoffs.

Amazed that Ed Wade made a good move.

I would like to see the Yankees get him, if going to A.League.
Would be a great lefty against the junior circuit.

I know my team (Phils) won't even try.

Both the recipients are very deserving and most proved their worth.

Think the Mets brass is thinking what if?

Looks like they have a shot to get the Boston hurler.

Although Pedro has lost about 5 mph on his fastball, he still remains one of the top five pitchers in all of baseball.

I believe, this may be a ploy to up the Red Sox offer for a 3 year deal.

Not thrilled with Phillies moves.

Well, As a lifelong Phillies fan, I am Not the least happy with the Phillies off season moves, or lack of them.

I Definitely knew Jim Leland was the best man for the job, but the fans got screwed again.

I hate to say it, but with Ed Wade in the drivers seat, this team it destined for another long bumpy ride.

What makes it so sad is: Now most players will view this team as one who isn't doing Everything possible to make a run at the 2005 pennant.

Charlie Manual is simply an extension of Ed Wade under Dave Montgomerys' thumb, another big YES man!

People who are NY Mets fans have to just laugh at the Phillies and their feeble efforts to appease the fans here.
At least the Mets management is willing to spend money and take chances, not so in Phila.
